I was browsing legacy Update trying to find some Xbox 360 drivers when out of nowhere my internet explorer 8 browser detected a Webslice. when i added it, it was a webslice feed in the flesh!
I inspected the code and it turns out it has some code i have been trying to get to work. I am putting the code in Retro Network because it is listed in the official Webslice Spec sheet Microsoft published. To get Legacy Update's new Webslice go to the hyperlink on this feed with at least Internet Explorer 8 and click the [Add Web Slice] Link or your toolbar will display the Webslice Logo as seen in the attached image.
I have created a dynamic website theme script via PHP. For now it will be on my personal blog site. For Today only it will be a theme based on THE GOATED Hartford Whalers. Tonight the Carolina Hurricanes are bringing out their whalers uniforms as well as the Colorado Avalanche bringing out their Quebec Nordiques uniforms. P.S The Whalers are my favourite defunct NHL team!
Well Microsoft ended support for windows 10. But they made a fatal mistake. By making the requirements crazy out of reach, it awakened the Linux Penguin. With Linux YOU have control over everything! there is no Bloat, no ads, no forced AI, and some distros can run on old computers with no sweat!
It will be hard. But with enough training and knowledge you can become a Linux Master Like Kugee (https://drevonor.com/ [uses Arch Linux])
So, The Penguin is calling will you answer the call?
[I main a Valve Steam deck running Steam OS (based on arch Linux) - Jackson Adams]
in response to Logitech almost making their entire Harmony remotes paperweight i am posting this PSA about what to do with your remotes. in short a community effort to revive the remotes you might have to wait awhile but it will come! Never forget the mass bricking of Slingbox's by the evil Sling Media in 2022
Happy 2025 to all. I am excited to say that project halcyon is complete and will now launch as OMNIFEED! omnifeed is a new RSS system feed that combines multiple Retro Network feeds into one single feed using PHP. There are 3 flavors of omnifeed depending on your taste in RSS! to chose your version of OMNIFEED head to http://rss.retronetwork.net/omni
Want to help me create a better Retro Network? Then cast your voice with the new Retro Network Poll-line! There will be occasional polls about ideas i have on Retro Network. And all you have to do is vote if its a good idea!

Well worry no longer the Starter kit wizard is now available for Windows and Mac users! just visit http://retronetwork.net/ftp/Software/Starter%20Pack/wizard/
Recently there have been requests from some IP addresses that contain no user agent string and try to request non existent URL strings. Examples include: /install.php /wp-login.php /wp-content/plugins/google-seo-rank/module.php /shell.php /xmrlpc.php
for Retro Network's safety i am starting to ban IP addresses that have no user agent and request these URL's Heres some that i have already blocked: 212.102.40.138 212.102.40.130
If you believe you have been accidentally ip banned please contact me at contact@retronetwork.net also for you web hosts out there. If you know how to stop these attacks WITHOUT harming Retro Computers and browsers. Please Let me know via my email address
hopefuly these attacks stop soon Please bare with me
MY NAME IS BUP and i have invaded RETRONETWORK.NET and from now on its now Retro BUPWORK home of the most DANK downloads and sites on the webs. here we GAHW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
before on older browsers like Netscape 3.0 it was broken due to it using CSS. But now i have re worked it to Good old HTML! I have also added an xml button for easy access to the raw feed
Now netscape 2.0 users can navigate Retro Network without going to the site map! unfortunately internet explorer 1.5 is still broken (if you know of a code fix for Internet Explorer 1.5 please let me know via email)
For you protoweb users out there i have updated the feed categorys to add one new category. Protoweb Sites. Sites under that category will work with the Pass-through proxy service
for more info about protoweb visit protoweb.org [modern browser required] or for old browsers visit http://retronetwork.net/protoweb/
It turns out that i forgot to disable the 'use CSS styles instead of HTML' option on KompoZer. I have now disabled it so now it outputs HTML elements. So that means Netscape users and Internet Explorer 1.5 users will see the page colors. This will not effect modern browsers
Retro Network is now accessible via the Protoweb Proxy service this also means that Internet Explorer 1.5 users can now visit Retro Network and over time all pages will be formatted for Internet Explorer 1.5 to find out more about Protoweb visit http://retronetwork.net/protoweb
Note Only the main domain and the RSS subdomain are only accessible via the Protoweb proxy
Now that i think about it HTML4 is out of date. Due to This i have created an new HTML5 layout which will replace the other layouts in April 5th 2023 Check it out by clicking the link above
still trapped in Microsoft Edge? want to use a 90s browser like Internet Explorer. Well i have just created a guide to to fix the IE to Edge redirection Microsoft has been forcing on us 90s Internet Lovers just go to http://retronetwork.net/edgefix
Feeling lost around the retro network? Well feel lost no longer. The site map is now available. It contains most of the main links to the pages to the Retro Network you can check it out by clicking the link or go to http://retronetwork.net/sitemap
Now certain sites in the list are separated into different category's they are Computer Resources: services that can help your old computer in the modern web Downloads: Sites that contain downloads Fun and games: sites that contain flash games and other cool stuff Miscellaneous sites: Sites that don't fit into the other category's Search engine: sites that offer a search engine
to sort these category's you must have an RSS reader that supports the 'category' XML tag (An example is internet explorer 7 and 8)
I have finally found a RSS preview widget for the Text only layout to replace the FeedBurner java script version that Google took away from me and countless others :( You can check it out by clicking the link above or go to http://retronetwork.net/text/sitelist.php
I have successfully Exterminated the HTML 5 Rodent but at the cost of switching from Apache Autoindex to PHP based index tool called. Minixed. This also means Mobile users can finally browse the FTP directory without it being too small to read :) check it out for yourself by clicking the link or go to http://retronetwork.net/ftp
Sorry somehow some HTML 5 infestation has gotten into the FTP directory. I am trying to exterminate the HTML5 rodent as we speak until then old browsers will experience script errors
Due to Google making Feedburner no longer work on Old Browsers like Internet Explorer 4.0 I have decided to discontinue the Feedburner service to continue to receive new updates via the RSS feed you must switch to the ListGarden feed which has been tested to work on Old browsers. The feedburner feeds will shutdown at 12:00am Mountain Time on July 27th 2022. Users already subscribed to the ListGarden feed will see no change. If you are subscribed to the feedburner feed Click the hyperlink to subscribe to the ListGarden Feed.
Due to Google butchering Feedburner with some HTML 5 bloat and also removing some services that Retro Network depends on. I am switching the HTML preview pages to ListGarden. Don't worry. You do not need to change your RSS reader because the main RSS feed is also powered by ListGarden the links to the HTML preview pages are "http://rss.retronetwork.net/html/siteupdates" and "http://rss.retronetwork.net/html/retrositelist"
3 new online radio stations have been added to the VTuner stream list. They are Radio Caroline, Radio Caroline Flashback. And Radio Caroline North. To listen to the new editions to the list visit the FTP directory and click the "Online Radio" folder. P.S I should create an RSS feed of the list
I create lot's of Subsites. Mostly because i am interested in 90s Website design. So i have decided to create a Subsite list. Next time you go to the landing page. In the Page Layout menu select 'Subsite List' or go to http://www.retronetwork.net/subsites
I now have a personal website that is separate from my main site. i even have a personal blog you can subscribe to. just head to http://jackson.retronetwork.net hope to see you there :)
Due to the Internet Explorer end of life happening tomorrow i need to clarify that the Retro Network will always support Internet Explorer (so is razorback95.com) and just in case Windows 10 redirects you to the malware known as Chromium Edge. I will find a Fix for the redirection problem. I will post an tutorial on how to stop it
